There’s opportunity wherever you look, stop by Container Park and donate a book! Downtown Container Park, downtown Las Vegas’ open-air shopping center & entertainment venue honors famed literary legend Dr. Seuss with live storytelling and book drive event.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ 115th birthday and National Read Across America Day, Downtown Container Park will host a weekend-long storytelling and book drive event with park-wide specials and surprise guests. March 1-3, children and adults are invited to attend various readings on The Lawn featuring Dr. Seuss’ famous literary works including “Green Eggs and Ham,” “Cat in the Hat” and “The Lorax.” He might slither and slunk, and his smile is unpleasant, but Saturday from noon until 3 p.m., even The Grinch will be present. Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite Seuss character fashions to celebrate.

Live storytelling schedule:

Friday March 1 – 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.

Saturday March 2 – 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.

Sunday (3/3) –1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.

In partnership with Spread the Word Nevada, a local children’s literacy nonprofit, attendees are invited to make an impact by providing new or gently used books to Container Park’s book drive! Bins will be located at the DTLV Merch Store in front of Container Park with the drive running from open to close, March 1-3.

A Seuss party just won’t do without “Green Eggs & Ham,” Downtown Container Park’s own Downtown Terrace will be serving up the famed colored egg dish and Dr. Seuss book namesake all three days of the storytelling and book drive event. Whether you try them here or there or anywhere in Container Park, you’ll see you do like green eggs & ham!
