Las Vegas Motor Speedway continues spectacular holiday tradition.
Glittering Lights, the holiday drive-through spectacular, brightens Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the world’s largest light tunnel and more than 450 animated light displays along a 2.5-mile racetrack.
This season, Glittering Lights is expanding with more displays that include a NASCAR scene and Avenue of Trees. The largest regional holiday light show is all LED, a more energy-efficient way to entertain Las Vegas nightly from November 16 through Jan. 6, 2013.
“Visitors will be able to enjoy the festivities from the warmth and comfort of their vehicles,” says Shannon Bentham, co-founder of Ivory Star Productions, which oversees the event.
The Avenue of Trees showcases more than 55 charities with custom dedication signs and trees decorated by each charity. Speedway Children’s Charities receives a portion of ticket sales and provides funding for hundreds of children’s charities throughout Southern Nevada. Goodwill of Southern Nevada will provide $2 off admission with a donation of gently used items at any of the 30-plus sites in Southern Nevada or at the gates of Glittering Lights.

This summer, the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority rolled out its customized 1951 Willys Jeep four-wheel drive Station Wagon, which it calls “Washoe Willys.”
The Jeep’s mission will be to represent the Reno/Lake Tahoe region by promoting the wide variety of attractions, festivals, and activities available in the area to crowds at conventions, tradeshows, and high-profile events in Northern Nevada, California, and farther afield.
It’s slated to make an appearance at the Sparks Hometowne Christmas celebration, November 30-December 1.
