September/October 2011
Following the theme of our 75th-anniversary year—Nevada’s territories—our 2011 photo contest is a celebration of the best images from the state’s six tourism territories: Las Vegas Territory, Pony Express Territory, Cowboy Country, Indian Territory, Nevada Silver Trails, and Reno-Tahoe Territory. Also new this year is a “Then & Now” category.

Lightning, rainbows, and a leaping dog…ranchers, a motorcyclist, and paddle surfers in a fog—this year’s Great Nevada Picture Hunt photo contest had its share of pleasant surprises. The 2010 categories are the same as last year—City Limits, Wide Open, People, Adventure, and Events.
September/October 2009
Images of Nevada’s striking landscapes still comprise the majority of entries into our annual photo contest. Out of the hundreds of submissions into our Wide Open category, a snow-covered state park captured our Nevada hearts. This year, a new Adventure category emerges, replacing Living. The other four categories—City Limits, Wide Open, People, and Events—return for another year.
September/October 2008
To us, Nevada Magazine’s annual photo hunt never gets old. This is the 31st time our staff fielded hundreds of submissions of photos taken in Nevada’s spectacular places. This year we’ve awarded our yearly Grand Prize, in addition to naming a second- and third-place overall winner. Our five categories remain essentially the same as they were in 2007: City Limits, Wide Open, Living (replaces Lifestyle), People, and Events.
September/October 2007
Every year, photographers share their finest work with Nevada Magazine. For us, that’s the easy part. The challenge is choosing the winners, which this year constitute a grand prize and the best photos from five new categories: City Limits, Wide Open, Lifestyle, People, and Events. More than 70 entrants sent us hundreds of captivating Nevada images. We cherish the annual thrill of the Hunt, and 2007 was no exception.
